Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Sometimes I feel like this log - worn and crooked and filled with knots. These are the times that I need to stop and remember God's grace. I need to let go of all the things that are making me feel so crooked. I need to prepare my heart to come before God’s throne of grace, knowing that here I will find mercy in his love. I need to admit that I need his help and quit trying to walk in my own strength. I need to open my heart to God’s healing hand so that he can make my knotted, crooked life beautiful.
Prayer Loving Father We bow before you with confidence and gratitude for your grace and mercy. Prepare our hearts to worship you. Amen

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; One thing about being at the top of a mountain is that you can look out and see mountains that seem to go on forever until finally melting into the horizon. While the mountains do come to an end either in rolling hills, fertile plains, or a rocky shoreline, the love of God never ceases and his mercies never come to an end.
Prayer Great and Faithful God Thank you for a love that never ceases, and mercies that we can experience new every morning. Amen Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, A simple cross is all that adorns the alter in this church in the cove. The cross represents both goodness and mercy - the goodness of Jesus who knew no sin and the mercy his death provides us. It is this goodness and mercy that draws us to him; that makes a place for us at his table; that makes us feel the comfort from his guiding rod and staff; and that makes us want to live in the house of the Lord forever.
Prayer Shepherd of My Soul, I stand amazed at your goodness and mercy that shines so clearly in the cross. I want my greatest desire to be to always dwell in your house. Amen |
