Scripture:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17 About This Image: To take this image I sat our creche on the table so that the cross ornament on our tree was in the background. For we must understand the nativity in light of the cross. In these very familiar, oft-quoted and memorized verses we hear the simple words that God loved us so much that he gave up his Son to save us. While the words are simple, the idea that we are loved so much is beyond our understanding. - to be loved so much that the creator of the world would give up everything for us brings us to our knees. Like the figurines in this creche, bow before him and accept his gift of love.
