The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. These were the words of Moses to Joshua as he was about to take on the job that Moses was leaving him. Moses knew that Joshua would face fear and discouragement, for he had faced them both himself doing this difficult job of leading the people. Moses also knew that the Lord had always gone before him.
We all have these kind of turning points in our life - times when are called to take on the job God places before us. When we look at the task before us it can fill us with fear. Only when we stop and remember that the Lord himself goes before us as he went before Joshua will we find the courage and strength to go forward - no matter what the road ahead looks like. Prayer Lord Who Goes Before No matter what curves in the road lie ahead, remind us that you go before us. And as we move along the road help us to encourage those on the road with us by reminding them, as Moses did for Joshua, of your presence. Amen
